Heather Brown

Heather Brown was a collective member in the early formative years of Broadside. She led a debate on whether to use the word “feminist” in our title, since in those days, “feminist” was sometimes considered alienating. The pro-“feminist” side won. She had been a high school teacher whose hobby was house renovation, a set of skills she used when Broadside moved into a former factory loft at King and Bathurst.

Heather died several years ago of cancer.
